SCREEN TECHNOLOGY

Sam’s teaching style draws from over a decade of experience in film, television and video production in Australia and overseas with a focus on creative problem-solving and the technical nuances of filmmaking.

Sam brings a cohesive and approachable knowledge base across the fields of producing, cinematography, lighting, audio, editing, media theory and other production related fields.

Sam offers highly accessible insights into the inner workings of the industry in a pragmatic, creative and technical sense, informed by experience operating and crewing on a broad array of productions ranging from feature films to music videos and everything in between, including numerous television productions for major broadcasters such as ABC, SBS, Nine and Seven. Sam has also held roles producing content in-house for several multinational firms across Australia and Asia, and more recently in a Senior Producer capacity crafting agency content for major organisations such as Samsung, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, Puma, NSW Education and others.

Outside of the production world, Sam was a founding co-director and curator for a successful mid-sized international film festival based in Southeast Asia for several years. Sam has been teaching since 2014 and currently also teaches the Screen & Media program at TAFE NSW.
