OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting) offers immersive, practice-led training for performers ready to build professional careers in acting and the creative industries. Delivered by Collarts – the Australian College of the Arts – the course focuses on developing confident, versatile actors equipped to work across stage, screen and emerging performance contexts.

Students learn through intensive studio-based training led by experienced industry practitioners working in theatre, screen performance and contemporary acting practice. The curriculum explores performance technique, improvisation, voice and movement, alongside studies in Australian theatre and performance analysis.

Located at Waterloo Studios, Sydney Actors School’s industry-facing campus, students train in a professional creative environment used by film and television productions. Individual mentoring and career planning support students to develop sustainable pathways that align with their creative goals and the realities of the industry.

Applications are not currently open. You can register an Expression of Interest for an expected Trimester 1 intake commencing February 2027. This ensures you receive timely updates and application information from Collarts.

When will applications open?
Applications are expected to open once regulatory approval has been confirmed, anticipated in March 2026. Applicants who register their interest will be notified directly by Collarts.**

Who awards the qualification?
The qualification is awarded by Collarts – The Australian College of the Arts upon successful completion of the course.

Where is the course taught?
Teaching takes place on campus at Sydney Actors School – Waterloo Campus, a purpose-built creative campus used by professional film and television productions and located within Sydney’s screen industry precinct.
